Alright boys. This could turn out to be the longest post in East Distance history. Brace yourself.
DJ "Millersville" Rodriquez starts the day off with a disappointing, game-changing no-show. Alumni Mike Liachowitz takes Dj's spot on Zach's team. My team quickly drafted Dan Helfand, Chris Mele, A.G, Kennedy, Arnold, and Walder. Zach's team picked up Minion, Zucker, Arjun, T-Russ, Fiedler, and (small)Dor. The battle began.
Team Iannarelli took an early lead 12 minutes in with a beautiful shot by the one and only Dor. Dan Helfand made the worst possible attempt at saving it, but later redeemed himself and proved himself to be a valuable player. Anyway, back to the game. Beatty retaliated with a nice goal to bring the score up to 1-1 with about 5 minutes left in the half. Ben helped Beatty the whole way to work the right side of the field. Clutch performances by Team Helfand's defense allowed Dan Helfand to score a beautiful goal assisted by JFK. The first half ended, and half the players walked off the field limping.
2nd half. 2-1 good guys. Let's go. Team Iannarelli once again took the half out with a bang, and layed siege to the net for 5 minutes. Our defense was scrambling to catch up with plays made by Minion, Zach, and Liachowitz. All 3 had some very nice shots on net, but Goalie Adam Green made the saves. Things got heated between Beatty and Arjun when Beatty supposedly pushed Arjun. I didn't see it. Nonetheless, Arjun made some great defensive plays along with Zucker. Both managed to really annoy me. Imagine that. So anyway, Team Helfand started to drive again, with Walder leading the way. Walder had several nice shots, but scored 0 points. haha good effort pal. Long story short, Dan Helfand puts one more in net to secure the win. game over.
Wait! Never mind! There's 2 minutes left! Team Iannarelli retaliates with a goal from Liachowitz! Too bad they still lost.
