On April 30th and May 2nd East made its way to Bunea high school to compete in both the Individual events on Thursday night and the Relay's on Saturday. On Thursday night in the 3200 East saw three runners run huge Pr's. Starting things off was Damon Glatz, a sophomore, running 10:15.9 out of the slow heat. In the seeded heat Dave Berger took 2nd, getting out kicked in the final straight, in a 18 seconds Pr of 9:34.9(#4 all time for East). Finshing 5th in the heat and 6th overall Nate Burt also ran a 18 second Pr with a time of 9:48.4(#10 all time for East). In the Relay portion of the meet on Saturday East distance competed in three Relay's and walked away with gold medals on all three. Up first was the Freshmen DMR team of Russell Beaty, Alex Reber, Marcus P, and DJ Rodriguez who won by well more than 100 meters in a time of 12:03. The JV DMR team of Damon Glatz, Scott Gross, Josh Elkan, and Scott Zhao ran a time of 11:38 and also pulled out the win with a strong anchor leg from Scott. Scott came from behing to get the win with a split of 4:50. Lastely for the Disatance team was the 4x1600 where the relay team of Nate Burt, Craig Fishbein, John Arnold, and Dave Berger broke the school record in winning fashion with a time of 18:19.2. Not only a school record but also # 6 in the State so far this Outdoor season. Nate Burt got things started with a split of 4:29, than Craig Fishbein held on to the front group with a season best 4:40 split, next John went out extremely hard to keep East in contention and split 4:42, last Dave split 4:26 to wrap things up.
