Last Thursday the East team competed in the Camden County Championships on A course at GCC. In the Varsity race East won the county title for the first time in 30 years. East had 39 points to Highlands 55, Heights 80, and Easterns 99. Leading the way for East was Dave Berger and Nate Burt who finshed 3rd and 4th. Also John Arnold in 7th place, Scott Zhao in 11th place and Craig Fishbein in 14th all came away with medals. Chris Dinh missed a medal by two spots coming in 22nd and competeing on the varsity level for the first time Tony Chen finshed in 32nd.
In the JV race, where the freshmen also competed, results were just as impressive. East went 1-2-3 with Damon Glatz claiming first, Mike Liachowitz in 2nd, and freshmen Adam Rosenthal in 3rd. Freshmen Zackary Ianarelli had a huge PR to finsh 5th in a of 18:38. Other huge races came from Dan Desroschers in 9th, Steve Omari in 11th, Andrew Berger in 14th, Frank Zhang 16th, Daniel Rodriguez 18th and capping of the medals was Josh Elkan in 20th.
On Monday the 19th the Freshmen and Sophmores will race in the Frosh/Soph South Jersey Championships at GCC and Friday the 24th the majority of the team will race in the Olympic Conference meet, also held at GCC. As always, keep running..
