Haddonfield Distance Night

Today, the entire boys distance team, and a few members of the sprint team, traveled to Haddonfield Memorial High School to participate in the annual Haddonfield Distance Night meet. For most of the team, the race marked the end of their season, however, for others, it was the beginning of a whole new chapter. Special guests included Jeff Deppa, Jarrett Radowitz, Coach Russo, and more. For some unbeknownst reason, this track meet under the lights always seems to produce great times. For instance:

In the 800m race, Keith Johnson surprisingly grabbed the 1st place spot with a time of 2:05. Following behind in 2nd and 3rd was Joe Epps in 2:08, and Max Cohler in 2:09. Possibly being the last race of his high school career, Pete Tzeng finished tough with a time of 2:11.

In the 1600m race, Dave Berger pulled through with a medaling time of 4:34. Following behind was Joel Burt with another consistent time of 4:35. In a wonderful surprise, senior Mike Levin returned to the track after an injury, finishing with a bang in a time of 4:46. Also following behind in his last race was senior Brandon Cohen, who ran his first 1600m race of the season with a tough time of 5:08. Dan Fuentes also ran a PR of 4:48. Chris Dinh also won the freshman 1600m race with a PR of 5:08, and Mike Liachowitz ran a PR of 5:27.

Finally, in the 3200m race, Nate Burt and Craig Fishbein ran impressive PRs of 10:35 and 10:41. Congrats to everyone on fantastic races and get ready for Sectionals on Friday and Saturday! A special congratulations to seniors Pete Tzeng, Brandon Cohen. and Mike Levin. A team distance banquet will be held soon...more information will be posted on that later.
