On Friday, the boys and girls teams traveled to Ocean County Park for the first time ever.
Leading off in the boys freshman race, Dan Helfand ran a very impressive 11:19 which got him 5th place. Not far behind him was Christian Mele in 8th with a time of 11:30. Finally, Zach Goldstein had a solid as well.
In the sophmore race, Ben Dillon and Jared Dashevsky battled with the lead pack of CBA runners, finishing in 17:04 for 7th, and 17:16 for 11th. Also, John "kennedy" Warkala broke 19 and got himself a medal. Aaron Zucker and Bobby Zografos also improved a lot and raced very strong.
The Juniors brought home an outstanding 7 medals. Leading the way in 7th was Mike Bruce with a time of 17:11, and battling him for most of the race was Mike Wang in 8th running a 17:16. Capturing the rest of the medals was Chris Arnold 14th, Jack Fiedler 18th, and Matt Burt and Sean Taylor in 20th and 21st. Arjun Nanavaty also improved his time running a 23:09.
Finally, it was the senior boys turn. The seniors were the only group today to win its race (top 3 scored). Crossing the line first for east with a very impressive time of 16:13 and taking 2nd place was Zach Ianarelli. Then Ricky Zhao had a steller race running 16:38, and right behind him in 7th place was DJ Rodriguez. Ben Helfand had a strong race coming 14th followed by Russell Beatty who after missing some time due to an injury had a great race and coming 16th. Tyler Russ (20th) and Adam Rosenthal (25th) got the last two medals for the senior class. Brad Krell had a amazing race and almost killed a guy when he outkicked him at the end. Kevin Walder had a break out race, dropping his time a lot, by about 3 minutes from last race. Adam Green had a solid race as well after missing some time due to injury.
Cherry Hill East brought home 19 medals, and 1 team trophy. Very impressive day. The 2nd batch meet is on Tuesday, September 20th at GCC "c". Lets keep this positive energy going.
