I'm sorry to report that an alumni of the Cherry Hill East XC team, Brian Deppa '06, has passed away. Brian was one of our top runners in 2005, and was the captain of the cross country, winter, and spring track teams. All that I know at this point is that he was hit by a train in Oregon while out for a run. Here is a link to an article that Andrew Baeckstrom found online. There is a memorial service this friday that former members of the Cross Country team will be attending. I don't have the time or location of the service yet but I will post here when I do. I think I speak for everyone on the team when I say that our thoughts are with the Deppa family through this difficult time.
UPDATE: There will be a visitation on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. The address is 327 W. Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill, NJ.
A funeral service will also be held following the visitation at 12 noon. It will be held at Interment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.
