Sectionals

Yesterday and today a few distance runners competed in the South Jersey Group 4 Sectional meet. As always both days were very hot. On Friday Dave Berger, Nate Burt, and Steve Omari raced in the 1600. Steve held his own in the 2nd heat with a time of 4:45. In the fast heat Nate took 9th with a time of 4:27 and Dave Berger placed 2nd with a time of 4:21. Today, on what was a hotter day than friday, Dave and Nate were back in the 3200 along with John Arnold. Nate Burt had one of the best races of the year running a 13 second PR, even with the heat, to place 4th overall with a time of 9:35. Also placing in the top 6 was Dave with a time of 9:37 for 6th place. John Arnold ran his best race of the year in a season best time of 10:08 to place him 11th overall.

In addtion to Nate and Dave, Uchenna Njoku also made it to the Group 4 State meet in the high jump, with a 1st place finish and a school record jump of 6 feet 8 inches.

This week there will be a meeting for ALL the distance runners, even if you already started your 2 weeks off, with Coach Cieslik after school in G033.
