Spring Break in Review

Over Spring Break East was scheduled to compete in three meets. Todays meet against Washington Twp. was rained out and moved to Monday May 11th. On April 13th, the nicest day over break, east competed in the Highland Frosh/Soph meet. Even though it was the nicest day over break, it was still very cold and breezy. To get things started Josh Elkan ran a 32 seconds Pr in the 3200 to take 2nd place in the Sophmore race with a time of 10:50. Other Highlights came in the 800 where Tony Chen ran a 3 second Pr to take 5th place in the Sophmore race with a time of 2:09.1. Also Steve Omari placed 2nd in the Sophmore 1600 with a 20 second Pr, with a time of 4:55. Right behind was Andrew Berger placeing 3rd tieing his Pr of 4:59. In the Freshmen race Tommy Tang took on the fast heat and came away with a big Pr.

On April 11th East traveled down to the Bridgeton Relay's, which for the 2nd year in the a row was rained on. To start the day the meet was postponed a hour to try and let the rain pass. But the rain and wind and cold didn't let up for the whole meet, until of course we got home and then the sun came out. But anyway, to the races... In the 4x800 the team of Craig Fishbein, Nate Burt, John Arnold, and Dave Berger walked away disapointed with a 3rd place finish. In the young DMR team made up of all sophmore's, Scott Zhao split 3:33 in the 1200 and Tony Chen split 2:09 in the 800. Than Josh Elkan anchored them home to a 5th place finish.

We have a very busy couple of day's coming up, a Tri-meet against Cherokee and Pennsauken at Cherry Hill East on Thursday, Woodbury Relay's on Saturday, and a Dual meet against Eastern on Monday.
As always, keep running...
