Yesterday, the East distance squad made their way out to GCC for the Olympic Conference Championships. On the "Holmdel-like" C course, Dave Berger ('09) raced tough and placed in 5th place with the time of 16:17. Narrowly making the second team all-conference, Nate Burt ('09) finished 16th with the time of 16:35. Unfortunately, the officials messed up the time and everyone after 18th place did not get their time. This means John Arnold ('09), who finished 20th, did not get his time. However, 18th place ran 16:51, if that is a clue to John's time.
In the JV race, Damon Glatz ('11) had a great race and finished 4th overall in 17:54. Finishing second on the team and 12th overall was Mike Liachowitz ('10) at 18:17. Tony Chen ('11) was close and came in 13th overall with the time of 18:25. Third on JV was Kevin Lanni ('09) at 18:27 at 17th place, and lastly Josh Elkan ('11) and Andrew Berger ('11) finished in 27th and 28th place sharing the time of 18:46.
"They're knocking on the door sophomores..."In the last race of the day for the guys, the freshmen sure were worth the wait. Adam Rosenthal ('12) finished 4th overall in 18:19 (3rd on JV). Not far behind him was Zach Iannarelli ('12) in 8th in 18:44. In 14th and 15th place were Russell Beaty ('12) (19:11) and Ben Helfand ('12) (19:27). The freshman had quite an outing in which they proved themselves to have a lot of potential.
