On Friday and Saturday, selected members the track team competed at the Group IV South Sectional Meet at Egg Harbor Township High School. On Friday, two team members qualified for the Group IV State Meet next Friday and Saturday, also at Egg Harbor Township High School. Dave Berger took 5th in the 1600m in 4:25.84. It was a close race, with places 3 through 6 all within one second of each other. Dave ran a personal best of 3 seconds. Uchenna Njoku also qualified for States in the high jump, taking 5th with a jump of 6 feet. On Saturday, Dave Berger came back for more, running the 3200m in a personal best of 9:52.21. Unfortunately, Dave took 7th, missing states by one place. Chantz Powell also qualified in the 110m high hurdles, taking 6th in 14.94.
The Group IV State Meet will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 30th and 31st, at Egg Harbor Township High School.
