Sectionals Day 1

Today both the boys and girls teams participated in the South Jersey Group IV Sectional Meet, the first part of the state championship meets. Jakie Gobel, Theresa Cattuna, Mike Levin, Joel Burt, and Max Cohler all represented East in the 1600m, and Brit Scarpato and Meghan Marro (if they count) ran the 400 hurdles. Theresa had the best finish of the day, with a tentative time of 5:08 (check back tomorrow for official times). Mike Levin finished with a new PR of 4:40, 27 seconds faster than he ran at the same meet last year. Although Max and Joel didn't PR, they gained some valuable experience at sectionals, which they can hopefully put to use in the fall during XC. Speaking of XC, hopefully everyone is now enjoying their 2 week break, getting ready to train harder than ever for the upcomming cross-country season.
