On Tuesday, the boys competed in the second Batch Meet on the GCC B Course. In the 4:00 race, Josh Elkan won the race in 16:54. Zach Iannarelli was right on his heels for second in 16:55. East went 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 11 in the 64 person race and won by 53 points over the second place team.
The 4:30 race had even more impressive results. Ricky Stonecold Zhao won the race in 17:25, a huge PR. Freshman Russell Beatty took 2nd in 17:39. Rounding out the scoring was Frank Zhang, and huge races by Ben Helfand and Tyler Russ, both of whom PR'd. Sophmores Mike Bruce and Mike Wang finished 8th and 10th, respectively, both having huge days. Of the impressive times run in the 4:30 race, those that stood out were Adam Green's 18:53, freshman Ben Dillon's 19:24, and (WALDER!) Kevin Walder's 19:04. Sub 19 this Tuesday, Walder.
Interestingly enough, Joe Pellegrino and Shyam Bharadwaj were in the results. We here at East Distance would also like to wish a speedy recovery to Chris Arnold, who should be fine for this coming Tuesday's race.
As soon as I figure out how to link to the results, I will post them. In the meantime, please bring in your money for the uniforms. Our next meet is another Batch meet on Tuesday, followed by the biggest meet of the season so far, Shore Coaches, on October 2nd.
MOC, here we come. Keep on running...
