Sectionals

On Friday May 21st, the first day of the Sectionals Meet, several members of the East team traveled to Egg Harbor. In the 1600m, Damon Glatz won his heat, taking 10th place overall, in a time of 4:32, a new PR. Closely behind him, also racing extremely well, were Steve Omari for 12th in 4:33 and Tony Chen for 16th in 4:35.

The following day, East traveled back to Egg Harbor for for the second day of the meet. In the 800m, Brad Krell ran a strong race, setting a new PR in the process with a 2:04. Joey Andalora also set a new PR in 2:10 but missed the freshmen record. In the 3200m, Steve Omari led the team by running a time of 9:56 for 11th place, followed by Chris Dinh in 10:03 for 16th and Scott Zhao in 10:08 for 20th place.

Congrats to Alex Reber, who was the only East member to win his race, running a 48.64 in the 400m. Other top finishes and qualifiers for the state meet included Terrence Owens and Alex Reber in the 400m hurdles, Andrew Athias and Terrence Owens in the high jump, Braheme Days in the discus, and the 4x400 relay team of Mike Oliver, Marcus Philips, Terrence Owens, and Alex Reber. Also, congrats to that same 4x400 relay team for taking 4th place at Meet of Champs in 3:17.
