Washington Township Duel

Today, East hosted Washington Township in its second duel meet of the season. With great conditions, many set new PRs. To start off the day, Damon Glatz took 3rd place in the 1600m in a time of 4:36. Almost every runner in the race recorded personal bests, including Chris Dinh in 4:37, DJ Rodriguez in 4:47, Frank Zhang in 4:53, Ben Helfand running 4:55, Joey Andalora in 5:05, Mike Bruce in 5:10, and Greg Greenberg in 5:27. Congrats to Ben Helfand for breaking five minutes for the first time.

In the 800m, Marcus Philips raced to second place, with a time of 2:05. Other notable performances included Mike Oliver's 2:08, Andrew Berger's 2:08, and Mike Wang's 2:11.

In the 3200m, East ran well, pushing the race and working off each other. Steve Omari took first place, running a time of 10:07. Other great times were run by Scott Zhao in 10:23, Mike Liachowitz in 10:24, Ricky Zhao in 10:33, Josh Elkan in 10:36, and Russell Beatty in 10:39. All these runners set new personal bests, including Ricky Zhao's 35 second PR.

Although many new personal records were set, East lost the meet. Our next meet will be the Woodbury Relays this Saturday. As always, keep running.
