Group 4 States

On Sunday November 16th both the boys and girls teams bussed up to Holmdel to compete in the Group 4 state meet. The meet was supposed to be held on Saturday, but due to false stormy weather forcast the meet was pushed back to a very windy sunday. In a extremely close team race the boys placed 9th with a team average of 17:33 with 228 points. 6th place was just 17 points in front. On the day East was one of the Top 20 teams in the State and had the 4th faster team average from South Jersey. Leading the way with his best race of the season was John Arnold with a great Holdmel PR of 17:15 finishing in 37th place. Coming in next was Nate Burt and Dave Berger in 50th and 55th place with Nate running a PR of 17:26. To close up the scoring was Craig Fishbein and Chris Dinh both running times of 17:48 and 17:49. The Team average of 17:33 is the fastest East team average in over 20 years. Also Congrats to Meghan Marro who is the only East runner this year to make it to MOC with a time of 19:58.
