Yesterday, the cross country team traveled to GCC to compete in the Camden County Championships. To start off, the boys freshman team opened some eyes by having 4 runners in the top 6. While the real boys varsity didn't compete, some members of the JV stepped up and took their spots. Highlights include
Chris Dinh's time of 18:15, and
Kevin Lanni's time of 18:21. Even without the regular top 7, the JV boys still grabbed the 5th place spot in the varsity race. In the girls varsity race,
Missy Showers once again pulled through with an impressive 2nd place time of 19:14, giving the girls just enough speed to attain the 2nd place team award. Good job to everyone who raced! The top 7 guys who didn't race will be competing tomorrow at Eastern States in New York. Also, everyone should be preparing for Olympic Conference on Friday!
In addition, The Grateful Runners shirts are being made as we speak, and will be given out next thursday. On thursday, find either me or Jason Klein to recieve your purchase. We have sold 75 shirts which will be a great donation to diabetes research. Here is what the shirts are going to look like:
