This week both the guys and girls teams opened their seasons 2-0 against Washington Township and Pennsauken. In addition to the race, both teams fared well in the workouts the past 2 days, which is an encouraging sign moving forward. Although not for another 3 weeks, the Shore Coaches Invitational at Holmdel will be an important test for both teams. Between now and then there are dual meets against Cherokee, West, Eastern and Lenape, in addition to trips to Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia and Holmdel Park to get ready for the more important races later in the season. Now is a good time to start looking ahead to some of the bigger meets such as Shore Coaches and Sectionals, where both the guys and girls teams can show the rest of the state how hard they have trained all summer.
