On a very cold and rainy January 7th the East track team made their way to the Toms River Bubble to compete in the SJTCA Large School Relay Meet. To start the Night the Distance Medley Team of Scott Zhao (1200), sprinter Connor (400), Sean Lowen (800) and Chris Dinh (1600) placed 9th overall with a time of 11:47. Next up was the 4x800 team of John Arnold, Nate Burt, Craig Fishbein, and Dave Berger which managed to grab a medal with a 5th place overall and a time of 8:37. Also Dave Berger ran on the Sprint Medley Relay team with Terrence Owens, George Blount, and Tim Butts which won their heat and placed 4th overall earning a medal.
As a Team East placed 3rd in the meet with 24 points. Most of which came from the Jumpers. The High Jump Relay of Uchenna Njoku (6'4) and Andrew Athias (6') won their event and the Pole Vault Relay of Remy Kahn (11-06) and Michael Williams(11-00) placed 2nd.
The Next meet is a scrimmage at Haddonfeild next week on Tuesday and than the State Relay's on saturday the 17th. As always, keep running...
