On Friday December 19th East took the hour plus bus ride down to Toms River's Bubble to compete in the early Olympic Conferece meet. Cherry Hill East as a over all track team took 2nd place over all scoreing 53 points, 30 of which came from the distance team. To get things started the 4 x 800 Relay team of Damon Glatz, Dave Berger, Craig Fishbein, and Steve Omari took 3rd place in a time of 8:59. In that relay Dave Berger split 2:02 on the 2nd leg and Craig Fishbein split 2:09 on the 3rd leg to get East up to 3rd place and Steve Omari did his job and held our spot in the anchor leg. In the 1600 Nate Burt came from behind with a lap to go to win in a time of 4:46. In the 2nd heat Andrew Berger held the lead late but got caught on the home straight and finished 2nd to run 5:07 and finish 13th overall. In the 800 coming back for their 2nd race of the night Dave Berger took 1st in a time of 2:06 and Damon Glatz took 3rd place in the 2nd heat in a time of 2:22. And in the last distance race of the night Scott Zhao finshed 4th place earning a medal and adding a few more points to the distance teams total.
Just a few days later the, on Monday December 22nd, East brought different faces up to the bubble to compete in the South Jersey's Coaches meet. In the 1600 John Arnold took 6th place overall with a time of 4:49. Freshmen DJ Rodriguez droped his 1600 Pr by 6 seconds to win his heat in a time of 5:15. In the 3200 Chris Dinh placed 4th overall earning a medal and a time of 10:34.
When we get back from Winter Break everyone will be racing, so its VERY important to make sure you run over break. As always, Keep running...
