On April 12th, the varsity members of the East track team traveled to Bridgeton, NJ, to participate in the 65th annual Bridgeton Relays. The weather seemed almost too perfect at the beginning of the meet, with sunny skies and the temperature around 70 degrees. As luck would have it, when the track events started, the weather gradually changed into a huge downpour of rain and thunderstorms. Regardless of the occassional 30 minute delays, the meet continued, and the athletes trudged on. In the 4x800 race, the relay team of Max Cohler, David Berger, Nate Burt, and Joe Epps, grabbed 4th place in their group. Unfortunately, only the top 3 teams in each group recieved medals. The splits were 2:06, 2:00, 2:07, and 2:06. In the DMR, the team of John Arnold, Scott Gross, Tim Dinh, and Chris Dinh, had an overall time of 11:35. The splits were 3:35, 1:00, 2:10, and 4:50. For all junior varsity runners, the next meet is on Tuesday against Pennsauken High School. Woodbury Relays will be on Saturday for all varsity runners. Keep on runnin'...
